The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations (UN), charged with the maintenance of international peace and security, as well as accepting new members to the United Nations and approving any changes to its United Nations Charter.
The power of the Security Council has become increasingly weak as cooperation between United Defence Coalition (UDC) and Shanghai Pact continues to decline. Respective members of the Security Council often Veto eachother’s proposals so little is achived.
The UNSC is comprised of 6 perminant members with veto power, and a further 12 temporary members who change every two years. Role of Head of the UNSC is changed alphabetically each month between all members.
Selection of temporary members is semi-random with “suitable candidates” (usually members of UDC or Shanghai Pact), being chosen by the 6 perminant members. Out of the suitable candidates 12 are picked semi-randomly with weights on both population and GDP to account for the size difference between states. Temporary states cannot serve two consecative times.
