Mongolia, officially the People's Republic of Mongolia or Mongolian People's Republic, is a landlocked unitary sovereign state in East Asia. Its area is roughly equivalent with the historical territory of Outer Mongolia, and that term is sometimes used to refer to the current state. It is sandwiched between China to the south and the Eurasian Union to the north.

While Mongolia is not the only nation to be in a union state with China it is unique in that its Legislature, the National People's Congress of Greater Mongolia (NPCGM), is shared with China with both Mongolian and Chinese political parties standing for election in outer and inner Mongolia. The NPCGM is also represented in the National People's Congress with 60 deputies.
